Koodo Mobile has been a little quiet recently, but that is all going to chance now that the carrier has added the LG Shine in an exclusive gray color. With the LG Shine already launching on Telus, Koodo Mobile users now have a chance to get their hands on a quality handset with its 2.0 megapixel camera and microSD slot.
The Koodo Mobile LG Shine will be available for $225 without contract and should have no problem delivering significant sales figures. In case you didn’t catch the magnitude of the no contract price, Telus currently sells the LG Shine for $399.99 sans contract. While Koodo Mobile is a brand of Telus, it seems the carrier is playing favorites with their phone pricing.

If you ever felt jealous of your friends on Sprint using the LG Rumor, the LG KS360 looks to be a GSM variant aimed at a similar audience. With Communicasia 2008 now taking place in Singapore, LG has unveiled a Triband GSM GPRS/EDGE QWERTY slider that looks very reminiscent of the LG Rumor here in the States made famous by Sprint. With a 2.4 inches screen running at 240 x 320 pixels, the LG KS360 is set to only release in Asia. Although the device will only be available in Asia initially, recent FCC filing and approvals should take care of any requirements preventing a US launch later this year.

With WCDMA 1700 and 2100 MHz support, the Sony Ericsson TM506 is set for a T-mobile launch. While the last Sony Ericsson to sell on the carrier’s network was the T610 back in July 2003, the recent launch of the 1700 MHz band is well deserving for some SE love. Although T-mobile has not confirmed the device and we only have FCC filings to go by, the last of the big four carriers to launch a 3G network is the only likely candidate to make use of the 1700 / 2100 MHz bands. The WiMAX Forum Global Congress in Amsterdam was the perfect time for Sprint Nextel CTO, Barry West, to break news that the first commercial Xohm service will start this September in Baltimore. Finally after rumors and speculation we have an exact launch date for the highly anticipated WiMAX network to go live to the general public. West also announced that over 575 Xohm WiMAX base station sites are on air and ”It’s the only technology I know where the chipset evolution for devices is going faster than the infrastructure.”

The news is solid and hopefully investors will look past the current economic condition of Sprint Nextel and give the yellow and black team some credit. As we previously suspected, the Nokia Internet Tablet N810 WiMAX edition will be the first device available at launch along with a few AirCards and USB modems from ZyXEL. With WiMAX coming in next months and the Samsung Instinct taking on the iPhone later this week, expect an exciting year for Sprint Nextel and their best chance to turn around the company to 2005 figures.

Yesterday we reported that the new Verizon Wireless Rebate Sheet showed the Casio G’zOne Boulder launching within the next few weeks and today some pictures have been leaked. With the military grade capable of withstanding even the toughest falls, the G’zOne is slated to launch on Verizon’s new Push to Talk (PTT) network and compete directly with Sprint’s QChat.

With a VGA camera and support for EVDO Rev A, the G’zOne Boulder comes with a screw lock battery cover and charging contacts outside of the G’zOne Series. While weight and dimension information is still a mystery, the rumor on the street is the G’zOne Boulder is much slimmer than the original.
