Since we gave the world an exclusive and extensive video walkthrough with the Nokia E71 last month all other E71 news has been, well, boring. We showed you just about every inch of the Nokia’s slender new stunner, both inside and out. The shinny new UI enhancements, the ridiculously hot form factor, the sleek metal case and every other nook and cranny.

It seems like it took forever but Nokia has finally made the E71 official along with its little brother, the E66. Since we already knew just about everything there is to know about these skinny devices, all we were waiting for is release dates and price points.

That Sidekick LX update has just been made official. T-Mobile made the announcement today, promising a host of upgrades to existing LX users. The new OTA refresh will start making the rounds this week, with video recording, play and share capabilities, stereo Bluetooth support, an alarm clock and Bluetooth file transfer support all making the cut. As with all Sidekick updates, this will be a phased rollout, so don’t get too upset if this doesn’t hit your handset immediately.

PSP firmware 4.00 is giving the portable Google search, with stored memory for the 20 last searches. And video played off a memory stick can be sped up or slowed down. Funny how such a monumental firmware digit stands for such minor upgrades, but we’re happy to see improved functionality by software any day, in any device.

Now that we’ve had some time to spend with the XPERIA X1, we’re going to break down the various features and give you our in-depth review. We’ll continue to update this post as we use the device more, but it doesn’t a rocket scientist to understand what’s at hand, a brand new Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1!

Rumor though this may be, we wouldn’t be too surprised to see the Samsung i788 hitting AT&T sometime in the near future. The handset is essentially a Blackjack III, sporting a form factor that will be more than familiar to current Blackjack I and II owners. The i788 is a Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional device, complete with touch screen, GPS, HSDPA, WiFi, Samsung’s bizarro optical mouse pointer, and more.
A New Way To Chat For BlackBerry: INSTANGO

It seems like every day a new application for either GPS or IM comes out for the BlackBerry. Point in fact is a new application that just came out called INSTANGO. It is a new IM client for blackberry that lets you connect to almost all the IM or chat based networks such as Gtalk, ICQ, AIM, Yahoo, GaduGadu, QQ & Jabber. There are quite a few BlackBerry IM applications out there that seem to do the same thing which makes it hard to set them apart. Instango seems to well equipped to keep you in touch with all of your friends on the go. The application itself still needs some work when it comes navigation with the trackball which tends to be jittery if you scroll too fast.
Instango is available in both OTA and ZIP for PC installation.
Picture with BlackBerry Javelin

I am still trying to understand where the Javelin fits into the whole BlackBerry product line but I guess I will stay in the dark for now. Chris of Engadget Mobile scored some shots of a dummy BlackBerry Javelin that look authentic. It looks very similar to the Bold with one major thing missing: 3G.
RIM does tack on a 3.2 megapixel camera but if the 2MP camera on the curve is any indication the quality will still suck. It is supposed to have a nice screen but other than that I don’t see why they would come up with this device AFTER they release the Bold?
Verizon BlackBerry 8830 With OS 4.5

No we do not know where to download OS 4.5 for the 8830. With that done Matt just sent me an image that he posted on CrackBerry forums of his Verizon BlackBerry 8830 running OS 4.5. The specific version is OS 4.5.0.33. In guess Verizon is testing out the new OS. I thought it would definitely take them a year until they even thought of doing an OS upgrade. I wonder when they will release it or if they are even planning on doing so.
