Mozilla Firefox for mobile phones could be launched before the end of this year, reports the BBC, quoting Jay Sullivan, Mozilla vice president of Mobile.

Mobile version of Mozilla, called Fennec, is currently in the last stages of testing and will be released until December 31, 2009, as told by Sullivan. “Lanser could be delayed only in case of unforeseen emergencies,” he said.

Fennec will be able to synchronize with the PC version, that is Mozilla Firefox, transferring the information necessary to continue the session started, from PC to mobile.

Also like Varina for PC will support Fennec add-ons, which will provide specific functions, as applications can be downloaded from online stores for each operating system. Nevertheless, supported addons can “live together” in peace with other dedicated applications for browsing the Internet, specific wanted to Jay Sullivan.

Mozilla for mobile aka Fennec, can be downloaded free, first to be able to enjoy the new browser on their mobile phones, the owners of Nokia N900. They can download Mozilla Fennec on the official site or shop Nokia, Ovi Store.

The browser will be available for Windows Mobile and Android OS. IPhone owners will not dowload instead Fennec, because of Apple’s restrictive policy, which accepts only build on paltformei WebKit browsers, mobile version of Mozilla is built on a different platform.

Currently, the most popular mobile browsers are Opera, Safari, due to huge popularity of the iPhone, and the owner of the Nokia phones browser. If Fennec will be able to win public using the browser Opera and Nokia, and as figures show the PC versions are great chances to happen, we will soon have a new leading mobile browsers: Mozilla Fennec.
