3G iPhone

Though it’s not a free 3G iPhone as O2 is offering, T-Mobile Germany will be offering their 8GB 3G iPhone for as low as 1 euro with a 69 euro contract. The 16GB model will go for as low as 39.95 euro or 19.95 euro with the 69 or 89 euro plan.

Over on the US side, AT&T will sell the 8GB 3G iPhone for a fixed price of $199 no matter which plan the customer picks.

Retailers have drastically dropped the price of the previous iPhone in anticipation for the 3G iPhone and carriers are heavily subsidizing it in order to woo more customers.

Samsung i788

Rumor though this may be, we wouldn’t be too surprised to see the Samsung i788 hitting AT&T sometime in the near future. The handset is essentially a Blackjack III, sporting a form factor that will be more than familiar to current Blackjack I and II owners. The i788 is a Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional device, complete with touch screen, GPS, HSDPA, WiFi, Samsung’s bizarro optical mouse pointer, and more.

Pantech Breeze

The Pantech Breeze takes into account many of the design principles set forth in AT&T’s approach to Universal Design:

* 1-2-3 Quick-Call Keys — Three preprogrammable quick-call buttons are located below the screen — users can easily select one of the three quick-call contacts and press the send button to start a call.
* Simplified Menu — Navigating the phone’s features is trouble-free with the simplified “breeze menu,” which prioritizes the features that customers want to access most.
* Large Font — Menu screens on the Pantech Breeze use a highly visible large font. Additionally, the font of SMS messages is enlarged and the date and time of messages sent is at the beginning rather than at the end of a message.

AT&T
AT&T‘s Chief of Mobility, Ralph de la Vega, was recently quoted as saying that his company intends to offer data speeds of up to 20Mbps on its network by 2009. AT&T has previously committed to using the yet-to-be-standardized LTE technology for its next-generation 4G network. AT&T is currently testing an HSPA upgrade that will offer speeds up to 7.2Mbps, and already offers PC Cards that will support it. Read the rest of this entry

Blackberry BoldThese are unofficial, and are subject to change: as expected, AT&T will be the first to get the Bold, and will start selling it for $300 in July 2008.

Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile customers will be able to get their hands on the device in September. It sounds strange, but apparently T-Mobile will offer the phone for $350.

If something changes, we’ll let you know.
