iPhone

In 2010, the smart phone market continues to grow: Samsung has announced a flood of such devices (once in 2009 were absent from the segment about smart, at least in Europe), and tomorrow is expected to officially launch the first phone that will bear the brand Google – Google Nexus One, manufactured by HTC.

Samsung will pump in rhythm known business phones with Windows Mobile and Android, Nokia to Symbian stake in principle and we will feel the least maemo Linux platform, Sony Ericsson could not leave the ramp with less than three operating systems (Android , Windows Mobile and Symbian S60 – the first two already confirmed XPERIA X10, respectively XPERIA X2), and Samsung will offer new OS Bada, in addition to Windows Mobile, Android and more unlikely, Symbian S60. Neither Motorola is not negligible after very pleasant surprise smartphone milestone. 2010 is the year that mobile phone inventors can not lie in the top one, but even more devices.

Finally, Apple will not miss the opportunity to launch the fourth generation of iPhone – informally called iPhone 4G.

Finally, the BlackBerry will also have its say, but with a greater impact on the market in America than in Europe.

I joined in 2010 and thought to look over the last ten years mobile environment. Especially since it all happened. Yes, the first mobile phone with a camera, the first 3G network, Windows Mobile, iPhone – ten years have been incredible.

2000 Sharp launches first camera phone, J-SH04. This year will see the first phone with Bluetooth.

2001 First commercial 3G network is launched in Japan, and follows two years later and Europe.

2002 RIM BlackBerry smart phone make its first. T68i Sony Ericsson launches first mobile phone with MMS, which allows users to send longer text and even pictures.

Windows Mobile 2003 is released, reaching widely used by business people working in travel.

Motorola launches the 2004 United States a very thin slider phone, Razr, which immediately becomes a global success. Moreover, still is one of the best selling phones of all time.

1. Champion at multitasking

Final reason for the Storm’s especially worth is the ability to “multitasking”. So you leave open instant messaging application while navigheszi the Web or play.

At this point, the operating system does not allow the iPhone’s multitasking, you can run a single third-party application on line. (Some default Apple applications such as iPod, can be used while running another application).

If you want to leave active one IM client as you read news through other applications, you must choose Storm’s.

2. Copy and Paste

Probably the most notable function that lacks 3G iPhone is the function of copy and paste. Even though may not seem much on a mobile device, try to transfer a URL from a Web page in an e-mail and see how a function as simple can become so important.

Users can use Storm Track function by simply pressing the start of selected text, and with another finger should push to end selection to emphasize that text. After you’ve made the selection, the BlackBerry display menu options copy and paste.

Users who frequently send and receive links, should choose Storm’s just because of this option.

3. Touch-screen offers tactile feedback

One of the complaints about the iPhone’s screen is the lack of tactile feedback. In other words, the screen offers no response when you press a key, making it difficult typing because you have to look directly at what you write.

RIM considered frustrations iPhone users, developing technology keyboard Storm “Click Through” to provide feedback both touch and hearing.

If you type fast is very important to you, should you consider a physical full QWERTY keyboard device. But if you want a smartphone with touch-screen, choose Storm.

4. Expandable memory

BlackBerry’s Storm has an internal memory of 1GB, but can be extended to 16GB via memory cards. Storm users can buy any memory cards want to have media collections whenever preferred.

The importance of a memory card slot depends very much on the size of your colectiiilor media and how often you want to access from your mobile device. Some users may appreciate the iPhone’s fixed memory of 8GB or 16GB, so that it does not trouble you with mini cards.

5. Camera, video recording

Storm has a 3.2 megapixel camera, compared with that of the iPhone – 2 megapixel camera. Although the iPhone includes a camera, it can be used in the video. If recording video is essential for you, you have to choose Storm.

6. Removable battery

Like most devices RIM BlackBerry Storm presents a removable battery can be replaced with another, when it was consumed. BlackBerry extra batteries cost about $5, but can be invaluable for those who travel a lot and want to play or listen to music constantly.

Since the iPhone has a fixed battery, the device needs recharging regularly or no solution to purchase expensive portable chargers various solutions and strange.

7. Stereo Bluetooth capability

With iPhone, users can listen to your favorite music via Bluetooth, at least not without an adapter, because the device lacks support for technology Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP).

This means that those wired headsets are required at the time you use Apple’s smartphone to listen to stereo music.

BlackBerry smartphone have, for some time, support for Bluetooth stereo, and Storm is no exception.

Aside from lacking flash support, the iPhone doesn’t also do Bluetooth filetransfer. Well, thanks again to jailbreak and the hardworking developers out there, this sorely missing feature may soon be available on the iPhone as developer MeDevil is currently working on one. The video above shows its potential, and once it’s done and ready, it’ll be available as part of the iSpazio repo. PMPToday guess its apps like these that make jailbreaking totally indispensable. Great work guys, keep them coming!

Google has been working on a new voice-recognition search application for the iPhone (Google Mobile App) for some time now. Rumor had it that the new app would have launched this past Friday, but sometime on Friday Google found out that Apple wouldn’t be pushing it out, despite getting the thumbs up for Friday earlier in the week.

google app for iphone

The good news for Google and all that were eagerly awaiting this app, is it will likely become available come Monday. This news comes from a source with insider knowledge of the situation (according to a report at TechCrunch). Google has apparently had little contact with Apple during this period, and have been getting updates on the situation via the iPhone developer tool which has had a status of ‘in review’ for the last few days.

$100 – 6 GB

Japanese store

We know that Softbank, not DoCoMo or KDDI, the number and two carrier in Japan, will release the iPhone to the Japanese. But few have realized the implication of this. An online study conducted by iSHARE illustrates what exactly this means: iPhone will not be a big sell in Japan. Only 9% of people between 20 and 49 says they will buy an iPhone. Now, unless Japanese teens have money for a smartphone and the older Japanese population gets interested with multi-touch and the virtual keyboard, the iPhone is destined for semi-anonymity there. Unless Apple decides to put in a 1-SEG tuner. Even in Japan, the iPhone screen resolution is quite advanced, if nothing else meets Japanese requirements.

3G iPhone

Though it’s not a free 3G iPhone as O2 is offering, T-Mobile Germany will be offering their 8GB 3G iPhone for as low as 1 euro with a 69 euro contract. The 16GB model will go for as low as 39.95 euro or 19.95 euro with the 69 or 89 euro plan.

Over on the US side, AT&T will sell the 8GB 3G iPhone for a fixed price of $199 no matter which plan the customer picks.

Retailers have drastically dropped the price of the previous iPhone in anticipation for the 3G iPhone and carriers are heavily subsidizing it in order to woo more customers.
