software
Nokia has recently released firmware updates for two of its NSeries smartphones – N78 and N82. The N78 firmware has reached version 20.149.051.1 and among notable things updates Nokia Maps to version 2.0 and makes user interface more responsive. This includes faster transitions between screens.
As for the N82, firmware version 31.0.016 adds UDP (User Data Preservation), as well as an update to Nokia Maps, which in turn is more stable after the update. AllAboutSymbian has more details on this one.
Apart from the highlights mentioned above, new firmware versions also make sure overall stability is improved, as many of the known bugs have been fixed. Naturally, it is advised that you backup your device prior to hitting the “Update” button.

It was said in the previous chapter that the W230 can’t keep up with fast texters. This is the case throughout the device, the phone lags in every application, and even to just end a program, it will take few seconds.
In today’s software-demanding world, most phones should be able to install Java instant messaging clients and Java web browsers such Opera Mini. Motorola’s ultimate mistake was to leave Java out of the phone, and because of this mistake, users won’t be able to install any third-party applications or games.
The small low-quality 1.6″ display will mean that not much content is going to be seen without scrolling, and it’s easy to guess that the web browser will run better if a user just browses through wap-pages only.
The home screen fits a signal strength indicator, active call notification, battery level sign, among other usual ones, such as the new-message sign and the current profile. Just below that there is the current network, date, d-pad shortcuts, and soft key shortcuts.
The menu is divided in a 3×3 grid, with the following items:

Back when Vista Company was announced, everyone was upset that they’d have to make significant hardware upgrades in order to accommodate the new operating system from Microsoft.
More Windows users had to buy new computers because it was less expensive than making the upgrades necessary to their then-current notebooks and desktops. However, there was a slight problem unresolved. The original date for the “Vista Capable” campaign was slated for June 1, 2006. For many reason, Microsoft decided to launch it 3 months earlier on April 1.
Some of the folks over at Intel were upset because the premature release would not give them enough time to make the chipsets necessary to run properly on Windows Vista. Now it looks as though the two company’s CEOs allegedly had a little agreement of their own – one that would misleadingly label machines with the inadequate Intel chips as “Vista Capable“. Though Microsoft and Intel employees were aware of the situation and were unhappy with it, the issue seemed to be controlled further up the corporate ladder.

BlackBerry RSS Reader & More.
I know many of use Viigo already while some of you are even using the new Viigo Project Tango Beta. We have been playing with this idea for awhile and thought it would be great to create a BerryReview branded version of Viigo. I use Viigo practically every day while riding the subway and have been a fan since the early days (remember those?) when it was called NewsClip.
Since Viigo/NewsClip was first released back in 2005 Viigo has grown into the leading RSS and mobile content viewer for the BlackBerry OS. Viigo truly makes BerryReview portable. Our full content RSS feeds, including images, maintain their look and format perfectly in Viigo. Viigo also lets you easily open each article to view the mobile version of the BerryReview website. Their upcoming Project Tango really promises to impress. I can’t wait to see how podcasts work in future versions.

Sadly there is no BerryReview branded Tango beta but once Tango is out of beta it will be available. We will also (hopefully) start recommending some great RSS feeds to add to Viigo. We are planning this release so that we can offer you an interactive mobile experience when the more customizable Project Tango is released.

I was messaging a friend tonight and all of a sudden noticed a new menu option in the RIM Google Talk Client. It was titled “Send Media.” I checked multiple times previously and it was never there before.

If you choose file it takes you to the browse file system. Practically the same for pictures thought it adds an option to take a picture from the camera. the problem is that when you take the picture it does not take you back to Google Talk. The last option lets you have walkie talky conversations by sending voice notes back and forth.
