According to the China Internet Network Information Centre there are roughly 277 million Chinese using a mobile phone, and that over half of China’s computer users don’t own a computer but access the internet via their mobile handset.

Reading on an iPad is better than a Kindle. Both were slower than with real paper, but the iPad was considerably quicker for reading at 6.2 percent slower where Amazon’s ostensibly better Kindle was actually slower, at 10.2 percent off of the time for paper. Apple’s tablet also edged out the Kindle in usability, as iBooks not only had more clearly defined fonts but a much easier to understand page marker.
Most of the complaints for reading were based on well-known criticisms, such as the iPad’s heavy 1.5-pound weight and the low-contrast nature of an e-paper display on the Kindle. Some elements should also get better, as both are presumed to be getting better displays in the future. The new Kindle DX already has 50 percent higher contrast than its ancestor.

Microsoft and Apple seem to be in negotiations to make Bing default search engine on the iPhone, we learn from MacRumors, citing BusinessWeek. Sources indicate that negotiations are already bears a few weeks and appears to have been initiated against the background of growing disagreements between Apple and Google.

“I know that Apple and Google are the primary enemy,” said one anonymous source of BusinessWeek, which estimated that “Microsoft is now a pawn in this battle. If negotiations will conclude successfully, it is possible that Bing to replace Google as default search engine and desktop version of Apple’s Safari browser.
A recent Google mobile market and acquire a mobile advertising company to Apple has brought the two giants in a conflict situation. There are even rumors that Apple would try to distance itself from Google Maps technology used by iPhone.
