Aside from the 5730 XpressMusic phone, Nokia has also announced the new 5330 xpressMusic handsets. This new music phone boasts of instant access to music, a standard 3.5 mm jack that provides crystal clear sound and an extended battery life that gives 26 hours of playback time. In addition, the Nokia 5330 also features online sharing through Ovi, Facebook and MySpace.

The Nokia 5330 is a slider phone with 2.4-inch True Color TFT display, a numeric keypad and dedicated touch music keys for music play/pause, forward and rewind functions.

For its web browsing features, the Nokia 5330 supports mark-up languages including HTML, XHTML, WML as well as the following protocols – WAP, HTTP, HTTPS. Likewise, it supports SMS, EMS, MMS, audio messaging, IM, and cell broadcast.

Other key features of the Nokia 5330 include aGPS, a 3.2 megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom, LED Flash and full-screen viewfinder. The phone supports video recording at 15fps-9fps, 5x digital zoom, video white balance modes with automatic, daylight, tungsten, flourescent and other settings.

T-Mobile USA, Inc. announced the availability of the new T-Mobile Shadow. Featuring a more rounded and compact design with two new color options, support for T-Mobile Unlimited HotSpot Calling, and increased processing power, the new Shadow is the perfect device for sharing life’s special moments.

Available exclusively from T-Mobile, the Shadow is designed to significantly reduce the complexity often associated with many feature-rich devices, while maintaining the powerful calling, messaging and picture-sharing capabilities people crave to keep them connected.

The Shadow is powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 and is the first Windows-based phone to provide support for T-Mobile’s Unlimited HotSpot Calling service, which provides great mobile coverage at home and unlimited nationwide calling from Wi-Fi networks, including T-Mobile HotSpot locations across the country.

After seeing the famous character “going iPhone“, we’ve heard Sony Ericsson will be releasing the Hello Kitty edition of its gaming-oriented phone – F305.

Aside from boasting cutely-painted case, the low-end clamshell will also come stuffed with Hello Kitty content like wallpapers and screensavers. Price is unknown at this stage and so is the exact release date. We do, however, know it will hit Russia and we’re guessing some other countries, too.

So if you’re a teenage girl or have a daughter that age who digs Hello Kitty, you may want to grab this special edition F305. It certainly makes for a great present.

Good news for all of the Fido BlackBerry wannabes out there. As expected and just like we told you last week, Fido did indeed begin training its employees for the arrival of BlackBerry with a targeted launch date of February 4. Sadly it looks like Fido really is going to start things off with the Pearl 8100, but at least it’s going to allow people to BYOBB. Well, unofficially at least.

The 8100 will go for $400 month-to-month/off contract, $350 on a 2-year, and $25 on a 3-year with voice and data. As for the data plans to be offered, they are as follows:

$15 – Unlimited personal email and IM
$25 – 500MB
$30 – 1GB
$60 – 3GB

Google has been working on a new voice-recognition search application for the iPhone (Google Mobile App) for some time now. Rumor had it that the new app would have launched this past Friday, but sometime on Friday Google found out that Apple wouldn’t be pushing it out, despite getting the thumbs up for Friday earlier in the week.

The good news for Google and all that were eagerly awaiting this app, is it will likely become available come Monday. This news comes from a source with insider knowledge of the situation (according to a report at TechCrunch). Google has apparently had little contact with Apple during this period, and have been getting updates on the situation via the iPhone developer tool which has had a status of ‘in review’ for the last few days.

This latest slider from Sony Ericsson targets the youth market and is focused on providing an enriched gaming experience. It carries quad-band GSM/EDGE radios, as well as stereo Bluetooth and an FM radio. The F305 has what Sony Ericsson calls Motion Gaming. Similar to the Nintendo Wii, it is sensitive to movement, and will allow users to flick or swing the phone to interact with games, such as bowling or fishing.

Sony Ericsson says developers are working on a wide range of 2D and 3D games for the device that will be available later this year. It has dedicated gaming buttons, stereo speakers, and has two different covers to personalize the phone. The F305 also comes with a 2 megapixel camera, supports Memory Stick Micro for storage, and media playback. It will be available in select markets in the fourth quarter.
