“The inclusion of Gears in Opera’s main browsing products supports Opera’s vision of transforming the browser into a full platform for applications, regardless of device”, say Opera reps.
I won’t disagree. As you may probably know, Google Gears is a little something that allows various Web applications and services work offline.

Opera today announced the availability of Opera Mobile 9.5 on the new HTC Touch Diamond. The customized HTC-specific version enables easy one-handed viewing and effortless navigation. Page viewing and panning allows users to scan and navigate pages quickly while Opera Zoom.
Opera Mobile 9.5 makes multi-tasking easier than ever before with improved tabbed browsing. In addition, productivity tools like the ability to save pages for offline browsing, Web address auto complete and password manager allow for a more enjoyable experience.
