Motorola‘s latest attempt at stopping their market share from vanishing into thin air is the Z9, a slim slider handset making waves on AT&T‘s high-speed HSDPA network.

The Motorola Z9 is a large handset, measuring 114mm x 54mm x 14mm (4.5″ x 2.1″ x 0.5″). It feels very wide in your hand, and the 140g (4.9oz) gives a noticable heft.

For the past couple of weeks I’ve been fooling around with one of Nokia‘s more recent budget phones, the 3555. Inside: a mostly full review of this Series 40 quad-band flip.

And here it is, the 3555. A big thanks, as usual, to my friends at WOMWorld for providing me with the phone trial!
About
Chances are you haven’t heard much about the 3555, if at all. That’s because it’s one of those low-cost “affordable” handsets that fly under everyone’s radar. Yes, the T-Mobile-exclusive 3555 can’t hold a candle to any N-series phone, but for the price you do get a decently-featured flip phone.

We’ve just finished up on our Z770 review. Z770 is a very interesting device, and the design is perfect. The features are a bit above average, and the software platform is superb, with only very minor bugs.

The Z770 is quite unique. This new way of thinking is something we’ll see in a few upcoming Sony Ericsson phones, although I have a feeling it won’t be particularly popular, as it’s not all positive. The Z770 sales box is quite small, and you get the most basic accessories and a bit extra bundled with the Z770.

Video Review: Samsung SCH-u940 Glyde

Samsung’s SCH-u940 Glyde is the latest touchscreen device to be offered by the Korean handset giant. It goes on sale today at Verizon Wireless locations. The Glyde has a lot of the same cool technology that the LG enV2 and Voyager offer, but is far more compact in size. With specs like a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, EV-DO 3G data, an auto-focus camera, and a full touchscreen UI, the Glyde could be very appealing to those Verizon customers with a bit of iPhone envy.

The Sony Ericsson W960i is a Symbian-powered music phone, sporting the UIQ user interface. With its touchscreen interface and 8GB of built-in storage, I put the W960i through the gauntlet of a media phone, to see how it holds up.

Multimedia / Applications
The W960′s 3.2 megapixel camera features autofocus and a dual-LED flash, in addition to decent video recording capabilities. The camera shutter button on the side of the device is two-stage, allowing a slight press to focus, and a full press to activate the shutter.
