Vodafone Essar and Research in Motion (RIM) announced the launch of the BlackBerry Bold 9700 for Vodafone customers in India.
The network had already very successfully launched the BlackBerry Bold 9000, and the Bold 9700 continues to build on that success. Kumar Ramanathan, Chief Marketing Officer of Vodafone Essar Ltd, said that “this launch reiterates our commitment towards providing our customers with superior products and services, which enables them to balance their professional and personal lives”.
Frenny Bawa, VP, RIM India, is also very pleased, stating that “we are very excited to introduce the BlackBerry Bold 9700 in India. This best in class smartphone will certainly appeal to Vodafone customers, offering a sleek and elegant design packed with powerful communications and entertainment features”.
The Bold 9700 supports 3G HSDPA networks, has the new 624MHz processor, 256MB RAM, Wi-Fi, GPS, and a 3.2 megapixel camera capable of video recording.
This launch is another big step for RIM in Asia; India is the second-most populous country in the world, with demand for mobile phones increasing each year.
Nokia announcement new C Series phones

We first heard of the new C Series from Nokia last year along with Nokia’s X Series and we know the Nokia X6 smartphone has already seen launch, but all word of the Nokia C Series has been kind of quite.
However, according to an article over on fonearena is that Nokia may be gearing up to launch their new C Series of mobile phones due to some info from the Indonesian government that apparently suggest there will be two C models.
The models named are the Nokia C3 which is quad-band GSM with Bluetooth and WLAN, and the second is the Nokia C5, quad-band GSM UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA with bluetooth and that’s all the information available.
Nokia is expected to announce something new on the 26th of this month, but no one knows what, so maybe it will be the Nokia C Series, and as there is only a day’s wait left we will soon know.

AT&T Announces New Rate Plans and Adds Unlimited Voice/Data Plan for iPhone

Following up on Verizon’s forthcoming rate plan changes, AT&T has announced nearly identical rate plans for individual and FamilyTalk plans set to go into effect on January 18th.
Plans now start at unlimited talk for $69.99 with Family Talk unlimited talk for $119.99 per month on two lines. Messaging add-onsremain unchanged at $20 for unlimited plans for individuals and $30 for Family Talk plans with Feature Phone activations.
Customers that purchase a Quick Messaging Device can also take advantage of the above rates, but they now require the addition of a mandatory data/messaging add-on at a minimum of $20 per month for individual plans and $30 per month for Family Talk plans for new and upgrading customers.
